4 year Anniversary of Depayin Massacre

Let's Remind U.N. to Take Actions Against SPDC for Depayin Massacre

Burma Point is holding a day of action for 4th anniversary of Depayin massacre on Tuesday, May 29.
Depayin massacre occured on May 30, 2003 when Burma's national leader, 1991 Nobel Peace Laureate, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her convoy were attacked at the order of the ruling junta.
After the attempted assasination, the regime reported a few people were killed. Other reliable sources said close to 100 people were murdered. U Tin Oo and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who led the peaceful convoy, reportedly received injuries as a result of the attack.
Since then, the National League for Democracy party leaders U Tin Oo and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi have been detained by the regime, State Peace and Development Council.
Until now, the United Nations has not taken any effective actions against the regime. Only the United States and the EU stepped up to take a strong measures, sanctioning against the SPDC.
Therefore, we ask all of you to join us for a day of action in front of the U.N. headquarters to remind them to take responsibility to help free our leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi immediately and protect the people of Burma from future bloodshed. We hope to see you all there.

62nd Anniversary Fascist Revolution Day in New York
62nd Anniversary Fascist Revolution Day in New York

Burma Point are honoring those who revolted against the oppressors throughout Burma history on 62nd Anniversary of Burma's Fascist Revolution Day. As they honor everyone who fought for the country’s independence and continued to fight for its freedom, they especially presented “People’s Soldier Award” to Former Captain Sai Win Kyaw.

Capt. Sai Win Kyaw entered into Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s residence on University Ave., Rangoon in his full military uniform during 1988 uprising. He then showed his support to her by laying down his arms and uniforms. While risking his life, he proved that he stood by the people of Burma and its leader.
Burma Point honored him by giving him the award.

NY-Burmese Community Meeting Invitation
NY-Burmese Community Meeting Invitation with NCUB (MPU, NDF, NLD-LA, DAB) and NCGUB

Dear all,

As the NCGUB and the NCUB are stepping up to increase pressure against the Burma regime, SPDC, we are encouraging all those who would like to discuss, work and take responsibilities in order to liberate Burma in the near future to attend the meeting.

As upcoming community meeting with NCGUB and NCUB is important, organizations and people from other states are to join in via video conference call.

Burma Point truely believes that only by taking serious responsibilities, Burma will be "free".

We would like to express that Burma needs you more than you probably need Burma. Therefore, we would like to know what we all can continue to do to help free Burma.

See you at the meeting.
Respectfully,
Moe Chan

After Burma Point led Martyr’s day event, regime’s representatives came out of the mission building and destroyed the 2’x3’ size picture of the father of Burma’s independence.  Statement of Sympathy from Burma Point

It is very sad news that Saya U Tin Moe(Burma) was died on 22 Jan 2007.

He was a lovely and valuable person.  This is a very great loss as a poet and teacher (Saya) of Burma who love Burma very much and always thinking of going home (Burma).  He will always be remembered.  May he rest in peace.
